Four persons including two Pastors lost their lives in an accident that occurred on Friday, March 24 along Okene - Lokoja Road, Kogi State. The car in which the two Pastors were travelling had a head-on collision with another vehicle.
The
Pastors who were from Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) were returning
from Oke-Aki where they went to make arrangement for the burial of the mother of
one of them. Unfortunately the one who lost his mother has also lost his life
in an accident before the burial of the mother scheduled for April 20.
According
to some eyewitnesses, the driver of the Nissan car lost control of the vehicle
when one of the tyres blew out. The driver of the Nissan car was on high speed
and rammed into a motorcyclist and a Toyota Sienna bus when a tyre blew out.
Confirming
the accident, the Kogi State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission
(FRSC), Mr. Olusegun Martins said, the bodies had been deposited in the mortuary at the Federal
Medical Centre, Lokoja.
