Sermon: You are the Temple of God

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16, KJV.

All true believers are the temple of God. If you defile yourself, you are none of God. God is ready to destroy every defiled temple. We are expected to be meek in order to inherit the earth. The world is not the real home of the elect. People who claim to be wise outside God are fools. There is no wisdom except the wisdom of God.  “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God”.

Why is the wisdom of this world foolishness with God? It is foolishness because it believes in earthly achievements. People who claim to be wise without knowing God are usually arrogant. They don’t acknowledge God in whatever they want to do thinking their successes are the result of their personal efforts. What does God know about the so-called wise people who know not God?

“The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vein”. 1Corinthians 3:20.

Those who know God are not expected to exalt men and praise them instead of God. “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours”. 1 Corinthians 3:21. It is a sin to worship people for any reason. You can appreciate and thank people for a favour done for you, but return glory to God. Everything in this world belongs to God, and it means automatically all of the children of God shouldn’t worry about them.

We are to be faithful and look up to God. We only need to ask believing and God will give us whatever we ask Him.
