THE PRAYER LIFE OF A LEADER (1) BY JOSEPH LAMIDI

Text: Phil. 2:1-11; Exod.3:1-10; 1Timothy 2:1-8
God created the world and man in a way that calls for effective leadership at all times to attract His blessing. Perhaps that was the truth that implied in Genesis 2:5-7 when it is said that rain was withheld from falling because man had not been created to till the ground.

Without man rain on earth would have rendered the entire planet earth a big jungle that renders it a horrible sight. The absence of leadership in any institution will certainly create plenty of pain rather than pleasure. So, we must pray that God should give us abundant leadership spirit. I gathered from Myles Munroe that leadership is a spirit. Then, my understanding of Zechariah 4:6-7 was sharpened and placed in the right perspective.

The Blessing of Prayer
So the spirit of leadership compels us to pray for the right people, pray with the right people and depend on the anointing that flows from prayers when we are saddled with the responsibility of leading and selecting leaders in our team. The example of our Lord in Luke 6:12-13 is instructive.

To be continued.
