We shall treat the
above seven things God wants us to avoid one at a time.
1. TROUBLE
God wants us to be peacemakers. It’s only
peacemakers that are children of God. A troublemaker is never a child of God.
Jesus says:
Blessed are the
peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5:9
A child of God is
not expected to cause trouble or sow a seed of discord. If you do anything
that will cause divisions among people and disunity in the society, you are a
child of the devil. Apostle Paul advises that Christians should avoid those who
cause troubles and divisions:
Now I beseech you brethren,
mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye
have learned, and avoid them. Romans 16:17
Mark the admonition by Paul: "avoid them". You must avoid troublemakers. People who follow
Jesus must be kind, gentle, humble, generous in giving, have self-control and
peace-promoters. Apostle Paul says troublemakers are not true followers of
Christ and do not serve Him:
For they that are
such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words
and their speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Rom. 16:18
Troublemakers think they
are wise. They want people to accept their opinions. They believe any action
taken by them is an act of bravery. The simple-minded people can be carried
away by their good words, but God has warned that we should not be deceived by their smooth talks.
