Death of Eight and a Call for Igede Summit By Ocha Ulegede

"PDP is rather insulting, disrespectful to the departed patriots and insensitive to the pains of the immediate families.
Am surprised that anybody, including the IGABOS of Igede land, the Igede traditional rulers, should allow the turning of this painful tragedy in the land to violate our ancestors tradition of treating the dead with respect to display the coffins of the departed patriots in a needless death in this manner and to, for whatever reason, including political correctness, turn the pain  tragedy to PDP political campaign.

It is rather insulting, disrespectful to the departed patriots and insensitive to the pains of the immediate families of the departed patriots and the entire Igede nation for this display of shame. While there is nothing wrong with organising a solemn church burial service in honour of these departed patriots in the senseless and needless deaths, everything is  wrong with the way and manner it was carried out particularly by the display of the coffins drapped ridiculously in pdp colours, contrary to and against the tradition of the land.

The unanswered question, amongst many, is whether the show of shame in violation of our custom and tradition was not planned with the involvement of the Igede traditional institution, to the knowledge of the IGABO of the land. If it was to their knowledge why was it allowed and  what is the plan to avert the consequences; was this show of shame not planned with the the involvement of the Igede members of pdp. If they were involved, why did they allow it in the format it was carried out. Is it simply for POLITICAL CORRECTION! I have observed the complete absence of the the 1st Class Chief of Igede and his chiefs at the ceremony.

That is how it should be cos his presence with his council would have further rubbish the shame and pains of this irreparable tragedy on Igede nation. I simply wish to make this truthful but painful observations, which  as usual, many would not like and call me names. As usual, am not bothered and I stand to speak out against the way and manner we allow ourselves to be mistreated, abused, used and dumped by all manner of characters, most of which are not comparable  to the Igede people in any form, including positions. My humble advise to the Igede people is that this painful and needless deaths should give us the opportunity for sober reflections in the way and manner we engage with others.

Never again should we allow ourselves to be used and dumped by anyone, including political parties. Our sincere but blind loyalty should no longer be taken for granted any more. We need to have an Igede summit immediately to reflect on this painful tragedy in the land and chart a new but remedial course for the survival of our people including the traditional summit at Ujegbe.

This comes from my sincere heart and concern for my father land and I do not owe anybody an apology over this. Am ready for the insults of those who never see any good point I make concerning and about Igede land. I promise you that I will not join issues with you, so do not feel disappointed for not responding. My condolences. May the souls of the departed patriots rest in the boss on of the Lord.
