How To Earn Blank Cheques From God Part 1 By Pastor Raphael Idoko - Exploring Evangelism, The Remunerative Work Of Jesus.
Central Truth: "Ye have not chosen me, but i have chosen you and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever you ask of the father in my name, he may give it to you". (John 15:16)
A blank cheque as the name blank implies is a cheque that has been signed but with the amount payable left empty for the beneficiary to fill whatever amount he or she wants. From this simple definition, it is intuitively clear that only a very wealthy person or God can issue a blank cheque and it is not usually issued anyhow. The living God and the creator of the entire universe is stinkingly wealthy among other attributes to issue blank cheques.
The Bible says, the heavens and the earth and the fullness thereof belongs to God. Our needs are mere fractions of God's abundant resources. Saints in Christ, if you are given a blank cheque in this present age, how much would you fill? Be sincere, for God is about to issue one to you now in the name of Jesus Christ. Please note here that "whatsoever you ask of the father in my name, he may give it to you" ( John 15:16) is tantamount to a blank cheque. Whatever your desires are, it could be good health, long life, wisdom, good marriage, financial prosperity among other things, God has blank cheques for each and everyone of them. God operates universal currency that settles the needs of His creatures. In this study, we shall be examining what to do to earn God's blank cheques in any area of our life. Brethren, there is what to do per time to come out of any challenge. In John 6:6, the Bible says, "this he said to test him, for Himself (Jesus) knew what he would do" He did what he knew and the result was splendid. About five thousand men ate and were satisfied, with about twelve baskets as left over just from five loaves of bread and two small fishes. Jesus knew what to do to turn scarcity into abundance. You will also know from this study what to do to turn around situations for better and get whatever you want from God in Jesus name.
What to do to earn God's blank Cheques are many in the Bible. In this part 1 of our study, we shall be looking at evangelism.
In John 15:16, Christ clearly told us what to do to earn God's blank cheques. He says, you have not chosen me, but i have chosen you and ordained you, and that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that WHATSOEVER (blank check) you ask of the father, he may give it to you. I want us to study this Bible verse very carefully and understand what is required of us. What Christ is saying here is very plain if we pay attention to details. I have chosen you and i have appointed you and your job function is to go and win soul. The soul that you won should also remain then you are eligible for God's blank cheques. I want us to consider some of the implications of this verse. If you are out there on evangelism everyday but didn't win any soul, you are not qualify for God's blank cheques. Again, if you win a soul but the soul did not remain, you are still not eligible for God's blank cheques. What guarantee God's blank Cheques according to this scripture is fruit that abide/remain. We are to put in our best if we must earn this blank check. We are to study the Bible, the lives of great soul winners, their methods and invest our time, resources and energy. we need to be trained and retrained for this great assignment. Jesus likened it to fishing. He said, come after me and I will make you fishers of men. ( Matthew 4:19). Soul winning business is for skilled individuals. The life styles of the individual soul winners must be near perfect. Your clothes, your utterances, your approach must reflect your message. Whatever will give you a blank cheque must require a good measure of your attention.
Why would God gives blank cheques for soul winning? Soul winning is God utimate business. God loves soul beyond words can express. In John 3:16, the Bible says, for God so loved the world(soul), that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Christ, who is God's best was given for the salvation of soul. God is not going to to keep anything back in decorating anyone who will partner with Holy Spirit in this soul winning business. This is the only empoyment in the world where the employee decides how much he receives as wage or salary if the terms and conditions of employment are met. Your job function is that you are tied up with the Holy Spirit of God in winning individual soul to Christ. You are taking men and women out of the hands of the enemy, out of bondage, failure and weakness, out of the region of dead and you are giving them strength, joy, hope and eternal life. God invested so much in order to secure the soul of mankind, He gave the heaven's best (Christ), that is the reason why he is ready to pay any amount for the soul of any individual person not to perish. The whole heavens rejoice over one sinner that genuinely repented. God in his infinity wisdom offers to give blank cheque to any individual that will lead other men to light and life eternal and make heavens to rejoice always.
Again, we understand that John 15:16 is Christ great employment proposition. We are to study it carefully and understand the terms and conditions of the employment. I would like to bring out the terms and conditions of this employment for the sake of emphasis:
1. I have chosen you. This means that the moment you confess Christ as your Lord and savior, you have become a chosen one.
2. I have ordained you, this means that you have been appointed or enlisted into God's army or vineyard. You are in His vineyard to work and not to sleep.
3. That you should go and bring forth fruit, this means you should go and win soul (s). Soul winning is our core job function or mandate.
4. Your fruit should remain, this means that the soul you win should remain. For this to happen, you need to do serious follow up both physical and spiritual. You must demonstrate good character and live right with people.
5. Whatsoever (blank cheque) you ask of the father in my name, he may give it to you. This is God's reward for soul winning. Christ employment proposition looks very simple at a glance, but a careful analysis reveals that certain helps are required for us to earn this bank cheque.
We have noted earlier that one is not rewarded according to how long he has been working. Reward is a function of the the fruit that remain.The terms and conditions of the employment especially 2-4 show that certain helps are required in order to earn this blank check. We need the help of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing. We need wisdom, he that wins a soul is wise. Proverbs 11:30. Only God can give wisdom.
We also need to start evangelism from our world and grow progressively into another world. We can preach to anyone but starting from our world makes the job easier. By our world, we means your familiar environment such as family members, place of work, school among others. A market woman who left her world of market to go and preach to lawyers and Judges in the court may find it difficult. She could start with her fellow market women and progress to other worlds from there. The soul of a begger on the street is equal to the soul of the president of a country in the eyes of God. Many people left their worlds and became easily frustrated. We also need to back our efforts with prayer. Before going round, we are to go up in prayer first and the Holy Spirit will lead us to souls that are ripe for havest.
I would like to conclude with this testimony of a sister. This beautiful religious sister was believing God for a husband. She had prayed all manners of prayers known to her and had even changed churches but all to no avail. I shared with her on how to earn God's blank cheques and she keyed into it. Soon She became an evangelist that understand the terms and conditions of the employment. She won some souls and In less than six months, her prayer point changed. She wants God to open her eyes to choose right from the numerious suitors that are asking her hands in marriage. Today, she is happily married to a man that fears the Lord and is now blessed with godly children. God will never spare any thing in decorating the destiny of soul winners. The reason why it seems as if it is not working for some people is lack of understanding of the terms and conditions of employment.
