Hate Your Life for Heaven Sake

"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal". John 12:25
He that findeth his life shall lose it:  and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39

When Jesus says hate your life, He simply means let not the things of the world be what you are interested in. We should not care about worldly possessions. We should not worry about anything. Jesus means we should labour for the Lord and leave all our desires to God.

Jesus doesn’t mean we should not work to acquire things and to feed and clothe ourselves. We must go out to work in order to meet our responsibilities. We must work to earn livings.  We must never be idle. We must have something to do to make ourselves comfortable. But while doing those works, we shouldn’t get mad when the expected results don’t come easily or at all.

We are bound to encounter challenges. We will definitely encounter problems notwithstanding that we pray and fast. God disciplines those He loves just as our earthly fathers discipline their children. God wants to test our faith. God wants to know whether we truly love Him or we love Him because of what we want from Him.

God is always with the righteous. We just have to believe that God is our Shepherd and have faith in His capacity to deliver us from every obstacle. We should accept persecutions. God anoints those who love righteousness with oil of gladness.

Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity, therefore God even thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews. 1:9

Those who love righteousness are those who are dead to sin. Such people are the righteousness of God. God has redeemed the righteous through His Son Jesus Christ. The righteous are untouchable because they are spiritually alive.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:11

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:2

If your interest is in the things of the world, you are not dead to sin. A materialistic person is not a Christian and a Christian is not a materialistic person. As dead Christian, you no longer live for yourself. You don’t do things to please yourself. A genuine Christian is a spiritual being living physically with the spirit of Christ dwelling richly in him.
