Eight Things God wants Believers to Put Away

God has specifically commanded believers to put away the following acts:

1.      Wicked men among us should not be tolerated. People who are wicked are dangerous.  Wicked people have no love. They are insensitive to the plight of others. Apostle Paul warns thus:

“But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.” 1 Cor.5:13

God will judge the people that do not acknowledge Him as the Creator of everything including human beings. Unbelievers are the people without God who will be judged by Him. But there are people who are wolves in sheep clothing among you who pretend to serve God; please identify them and put them away. A wicked person is evil. A wicked person wants to be given honour meant for God. He causes division and promotes worldliness. He should never be tolerated in your assembly if he fails or refuses to repent.

2.      Lying: A liar is also a false witness. He is Judas Iscariot in character. He can betray anyone for a promise of a reward of any kind. Bible says:

“Wherefore putting away lying, speaking every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members of one of another”. 1 Cor.4:25

In 1 Cor. 4:31 we are commanded to put away:

3.      Bitterness

4.      Wrath

5.      Anger

6.      clamour

7.      Evil speaking

8.      All malice
