THE DESIRES OF THE FLESH, GALATIANS 5:19-21

While we live, we cannot avoid the desires of the flesh. Jesus says we should pray not to fall into temptation. That means there are tempting things in the world, and we can only overcome temptations by the blood of the Lamb. How? The power of God is given to us to destroy the works of the devil.  We should be living in the Spirit.  It is only when the Holy Spirit is allowed to guide our daily activities that we can overcome temptations.

We should not take off our minds from the word of God. We should study the word daily. To conquer the desires of the flesh, we should be heavenly-minded. Those who live in the flesh run after the things of this world.

The following are the works of the flesh as listed in Galatians 5:19-20: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such things that are not right in the sight of God.  Anyone that commits any of these sins ‘’shall not inherit the Kingdom of God’’. Please note that all unrighteousness is sin.

In conclusion, Apostle Paul advises that we should live in the Spirit as well as walk in the Spirit. ‘’Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another’’. (Gal.5:26).
