HOW TO ESCAPE THE WRATH OF GOD ON THE JUDGEMENT DAY

It may seem the world will not end someday as God who created it says in the Bible. Thousands of years have come and gone, yet the world remains; and people are marrying and given in marriage. Children are being born and technologies are improving. Knowledge is increasing in confirmation of the word of God.

God is only being patient because of His love for us. Do not think the world will not end, and continue to take the patience of God for granted.  Apostle Peter says, one thousand years is like one day before God, and one day is like one thousand years before Him. God has promised, and certainly in a jiffy He will execute His plan. His delay is not indecision. God does not want any person to perish. He wants every human being to hear the gospel and repent or at least so that the unrepentant ones will not have any excuse to give on the judgement day.

The relevant question is: will Jesus come again? God respects His own word, so at the set time, all He covenanted will be accomplished.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2Peter 3:8-9 KJV

Dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape you: with the Lord one day is like 1,000 years, and 1,000 years like one day. The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. 2Peter 3:8-9 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

God is patient and we should not take His Patience to mean God likes delay or is applying a delay tactic. I reiterate God is patient because of love and kindness for us in the world. He does not want any to die and go to hell. Our salvation matters to Him very well.

But, note one thing, in a twinkling of an eye, an Archangel will blow the trumpet and Jesus Christ will appear in the sky. Many will be caught unaware – some in their merriment. The day of the Lord will come like a thief. Just as a thief will not inform his victim that he will come on a particular day to steal from him or rob him, so shall the day of the Lord be.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and works on it will be dissolved. 2Peter 3:10 (HCSB)

Ours is to prepare and be watching always. We should put on the whole armour of God – righteousness, holiness, kindness, obedience, meekness, prayers, love.  We should be holy and maintain peace with all people irrespective of tribe, status, tongue and race. We should be mindful of our conversations, the company we keep and how we conduct ourselves.

We ‘’should be in holy conduct and godliness…as you wait for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God…’’ (2Peter 3:11, 12).

This is not the time for jokes and pursuits of worldly things. If you worship in the church where heresies are preached and emphases are on earthly possessions, my dear friend, please leave the church in order to save your soul from damnation.

In conclusion, take this advice from Apostle Peter: ‘’…while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found in peace without spot or blemish before Him (verse 14); ‘’to be on your guard so that you are not led away by the error of the immoral and fall from your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ’’ (verse 17, 18).
