Why the Kingdom of God Belongs to the Poor in Spirit

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

The poor in spirit are the people who have the mind of Christ. Jesus says the poor in spirit are blessed and the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them. The poor in spirit are known for their humility. They have forgiving spirit. They do not feel hurt in any situation no matter the gravity of the provocation. They avoid trouble. They sow peace and acknowledge God first in everything they do.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

The poor in spirit do not pay evil for evil. They do not insult back when insulted. They have no problem forgiving others for any wrong done to them. They are quick to reconcile with others. They are ready to let go of anything that would cause a problem between them and others.

The poor in spirit think good of and about others. They are not proud or arrogant. They pursue peace; and they do whatever they think will please others. They fear God, pray always and fast often. They do not use their position to exploit people.

They do not mock others. They do not oppress. They are always ready to help others. No wonder, Jesus says: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

    1. Thank you sir. One noticeable character of the poor in spirit person is: he appears stupid and uncivilised because of his meekness.
