Topic: The blessings of being about your father's business.

Anchor scripture: Luke 2:49-52 Then he said to them, Why is it that you are looking for me? Did you not know that I must be about my father's business?  and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Exploit in life is possible at any age. All that is required is to know the right things to do and do them. At age twelve, Jesus knew the importance of being about his father's business and he dived into it and great wisdom, favour with God and man was the outcome.

Saul the son of Kish was going about his father's business (looking for his father's missing donkey) when he ran into his glorious destiny. He became the first king of Israel, the first to prophesize in his lineage. He received favour from man that same day. (A man that was carrying 3 loaves of bread gave him two out of three), 1 Samuel 9 and 10.

Jesse had eight sons. Seven of them were with him at home when Prophet Samuel came under the instruction of God to anoint one of his sons. Seven of them were made to pass before the man of God and none of them was qualified for the anointing. Samuel the man of God then asked Jesse? Are these all your sons? Jesse answered, there remained one in the bush taking care of the sheep. And Samuel said, "send and fetch him for we will not sit down until he comes here" He was the youngest of Jesse's sons. David who was about his father's business (taking care of the sheep) was anointed to become the next king of Israel. 1Samuel 16:1-14

Believers, the cheapest route to the throne is to ‘’be about your father's business" it is not title that makes great in this kingdom. ‘’Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all others shall be added unto you’’, Matthew 6:33.

Evangelism is one of the principal ways of being about your father's business. Speak to someone about Jesus and the finished work of Salvation. Don't be ashamed of what is gainful.

For us to be truly qualified for his business, new birth is a must. Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3:3 ‘’Marvel not that I said, you must be born again’’.

You can surrender your life to Christ by saying this simple prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, come into my life, I am a poor sinner in need of your help. I believe you died  on the cross for my sin. My debts are paid, I am now redeemed and  justified. Thank you Lord for saving my soul’’.

Congratulations if you sincerely pray this prayer from your heart. Next is to look for a bible believing Church and start fellowshipping with them.

Prayer point: Heavenly father, help me to go about your business with unusual zeal so that I can be anointed for the throne in Jesus name. Amen!
