Shortly after my conversion to Christianity I visited my home country, Guinea. During my morning devotion my mom found me studying my Bible and reported me to the entire family.

My grandfather was a respected man in the community and in our local mosque, so it was seen as a disgrace for me to convert to Christianity. They went and called some Imams from the mosque, my parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and neighbors, in fact everyone that heard it came to our house.

One of the imams said to me, "We all know you as a Muslim. Your parents and grandparents are Muslims. You were born and grew up here. How come you now say you are a Christian?”

I kept quiet for so long because I was afraid at their threats of beating me to death. I was contemplating whether to identify with Jesus or deny Him. I looked to the side I saw my mom crying and saying I am a disgrace. And within me The Holy Spirit reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 10:33 , that, “But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. “

Finally, the Holy Spirit empowered me and I spoke with boldness without minding what they would do to me. I reminded myself that for me to live is Christ and d!e is gain. So, I told them I had an encounter with Jesus, the Son of God. I shared with them the out-of-body experience I had where Jesus appeared to me,  washed me and told me He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and  I should follow Him.

They all laughed with unbelief and said  there is something wrong with me and I’m possessed with an ev!l spirit. That was how I was taking to another imam to pray for me and cast out the Jinn (evil spirit) in me. In the next testimony I’ll share what happened

But the thing is this, I felt immense joy witnessing to them, even though they didn't believe. Let's seize every opportunity to share the Gospel, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us, even in challenging situations.

There is salvation in no one else but JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH.

Grace, the Ex Muslim
