UPDATE ON THE CASE OF JENNIFER Who was forced by some Muslims to renounce Christianity

We wish to provide an update on the ongoing case involving Jennifer, a 16-year-old girl, following developments at the Bauchi State Police Headquarters today.

Earlier today, we received a call directing us to report to the Bauchi State Police Headquarters concerning the matter. Jennifer’s father, accompanied by her mother, was also present at the office of the Commissioner of Police (CP).

During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police reviewed the situation and gave a directive that, since Jennifer’s parents were present and had come to take responsibility for their daughter, the girl should be released to them. The CP directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police to take the necessary steps to implement the directive and release the parties involved.

However, at the point of implementing the directive, representatives of the Da'awah group objected to Jennifer being released to her parents. They expressed concern that the girl might be harmed if she was handed over to them and insisted that the police should not release her. They further requested that the matter be taken before a court rather than allowing Jennifer to return home with her parents.

Following the disagreement, the police decided to transfer Jennifer temporarily to the Bauchi State Agency for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (BASOVCA), where she is to remain until Monday, when the matter is expected to be revisited.

*THE PLIGHT OF THE PARENTS*

Jennifer’s parents travelled from Adamawa State to Bauchi to attend the meeting and take their daughter home. They have other children at home who have been left without their parents' care while they remain in Bauchi dealing with this matter.

The parents are therefore appealing to the Commissioner of Police and the relevant authorities to consider their situation and allow them to return home with their daughter, in accordance with the directive reportedly given during today's meeting.

They are particularly concerned about the welfare of the children who are waiting for them at home and are calling for a peaceful and lawful resolution of the matter.

*CALL FOR A FAIR AND PEACEFUL RESOLUTION*

We respectfully appeal to the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Police Command, BASOVCA, relevant child-protection authorities, legal practitioners, human-rights organisations and other responsible authorities to ensure that Jennifer’s welfare, safety and legal rights remain at the centre of the process.

We believe that a 16-year-old child should be handled with appropriate child-protection procedures, while her parents should also be given a fair opportunity to exercise their lawful parental responsibilities.

We therefore appeal for calm, transparency, due process and a peaceful resolution that protects Jennifer and respects the rights of all parties involved.

This update is issued to provide the public with the latest information available to us as of 21 August 2026. We remain committed to cooperating with the appropriate authorities and allowing the matter to be resolved through lawful and peaceful means.

The Gospel of Christ Must Be Preached Int’l Ministry (Bishara Dole)

Heaven for All Mission (Hefam) is a nondenominational Christian Assembly aimed at taking the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to every nook and cranny of the world. We have been operating on this platform for many years now, and we believe it is high time we raise money to enable us sponsor people who are in the Mission and those who are desirous of going out to the unreached to preach the Good News of Salvation to them.

We are using this medium to appeal to you to join the Army of Christ by being a part of this holy movement through financial contributions to this Body. Taking the Gospel to every nation is in obedience to the command or Commission to us by Jesus Christ and it is an unavoidable spiritual risk worth venturing into.
