72 VIRGINS, UNLIMITED WINE 🍷 AND A TICKET TO PARADISE FOR KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE? Asked by Taoheed Adeshina Mustapha

I was travelling in a taxi from Central London to Milton Keynes. My driver was a Pakistani man.

Seeing me in my jalabia and cap, he greeted me, “Assalamu Alaikum! I'm happy to meet a Muslim brother today.”

I laughed and asked, “What if I'm not Muslim and simply love this dressing?” 😂

We both laughed, and our conversation gradually moved to religion and extremism. 

His views during that discussion made me realise he sympathised with extremist ideology.

Then I asked him a simple question:

“What exactly do extremists like you stand to gain by killing innocent people simply because they do not worship Allah or because they are accused of blaspheming against Prophet Muhammad?”

My goodness! 

The excitement with which this man described 72 virgins, endless wine and paradise as rewards for so-called martyrdom shocked me!

I interrupted him and said, “Please stop. I would rather take another taxi!”

He was surprised and begged me to continue the conversation.

I reminded him that the Qur'an condemns the unjust killing of innocent people (5:32) and declares that there is no compulsion in religion (2:256).

We discussed humanity, peaceful coexistence and the danger of turning religion into a justification for murder.

Gradually, his tone changed. He became calm and eventually asked for my phone number.

That encounter reminded me how dangerous extremist indoctrination can become when people are taught to celebrate death instead of protecting life.

And let me ask those preachers who glorify such violence:

IF PARADISE IS SO SWEET THROUGH KILLING, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE SENDING OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN? 🤔

Africa, we must challenge dangerous teachings before they destroy another generation.

ANY PREACHING THAT MAKES YOU CELEBRATE THE MURDER OF INNOCENT PEOPLE HAS ALREADY ROBBED YOU OF YOUR HUMANITY!
