| Saba murdered by a Muslim Neighbour for rejecting his advances |
Saba rejected a Muslim man’s advances. He responded by taking her life.
Saba Mehboob and her daughters lived with her mother and stepfamily after leaving her husband because of his severe drug addiction.
Her Muslim neighbor, Adnan Butt, repeatedly made aggressive, unwanted advances toward her. When Saba rejected him and defended herself, he became increasingly hostile.
On Sept. 3, Butt allegedly entered Saba's home at gunpoint and ordered her family to leave. He slapped Saba repeatedly before shooting her in the head, killing her instantly, while her 16-year-old stepbrother, Anoosh, was forced to watch.
Butt then abducted Anoosh, threatening him with death unless he remained silent or confessed to Saba's murder.
Thankfully, Anoosh was released and he and his father were placed in protective custody. The incident has sparked a protest in the community, with both Christians and Muslims calling for Butt's arrest and for justice for Saba's family and her young daughters. Till now, no arrest.
