Bandit Dogo Sale Says Nigerian Soldier Gave His Gang Guns, Says Gang Collected N1 Billion From Kidnapping Customs Officers
A notorious bandit known as Dogo Sale has made shocking claims while in police custody.
In a video confession obtained by SaharaReporters, Dogo Sale said he has been doing banditry for about 4 years in Kaduna and Kogi States.
He made two big allegations:
1. A Nigerian soldier supplies guns to his gang.
Dogo Sale, speaking in Hausa during interrogation, said a serving soldier sells guns to his gang for N1 million per gun. He said the soldier brings the guns to their camp in Kaduna State with a vehicle. He claimed the soldier comes to the forest around 4pm to 5pm and leaves around 8pm.
He also claimed the soldier is keeping his N5 million, which he said the soldier collected to buy POP cement for his houses. He alleged the soldier has built many houses in an area he called Pida Bulu, Babang Saura, using money from banditry. He identified the soldier only as Abdul.
2. His gang collected N1 billion ransom from two kidnappings involving Customs officers.
Sale said his gang made N500 million each from two operations in Kaduna State.
According to him, the first one was the kidnapping of a Customs officer. The second one, they wanted to kidnap another Customs officer but they kidnapped the officer's wife instead, and they still collected N500 million.
He also said his gang operates on the Lokoja road in Kogi State. He said they have about 20 members in the Lokoja camp, and over 100 bandits in Kaduna divided into about 10 groups.
He said on the Lokoja highway, they block the road, stop cars, and kidnap people who look rich - people wearing expensive clothes or driving big cars. He said they demand between N100 million and N200 million per victim.
He said they work under a traditional spiritualist he called 'boka', and their main camp is called Rijana, deep inside the forest after Sabuwa Gayam and Doguwa Gayam.
Important Note: These are allegations made by the suspect. They have not been independently verified by security agencies. The identity of the soldier has not been confirmed, and authorities have not yet officially responded to the claims.
Security agencies say they will investigate the source of guns used by bandits and how ransom money moves.
