 WHAT IRRITATE MUSLIMS ABOUT CHRISTIANS by Ibrahim Kassim

I have observed that what irritate Muslims about Christians are the Christian beliefs as described below:

1. God is one, and He exists in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Doctrine of Trinity), Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14.

2. Jesus is the Son of God (He is God who incarnated in human body, and lived with human beings; this is why He is God’s Son), Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1,14; 5:18.

3. Jesus is God (This is who he has been in eternity, even before he appeared in human body), John 1:1; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13.

4. Jesus incarnated in human body through a virgin birth, and he died because he became man so that he might take the punishment of our sins upon himself. He gained victory over sin and death through his resurrection by which he wrought salvation for us, Matthew 1:21-23; Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 3:18. This was possible because he is God who has the power to do whatever he chooses to do. It was by his power that he became man, and he died and resurrected because, being God, he has the power to do that. If someone says it is not possible, he is saying that there is something that God doesn’t have the power to do. But there is nothing beyond God’s power. It was by his power that he existed in heaven as the Father, and also existed in human body on earth as the Son, all at the same time.

5. Jesus is our savior; the one who gives us eternal life. He is the one who will take us to the Father’s house- the house of God, Matthew 1:21; John 10:28-30; 14:1-6.

The above beliefs are what deeply irritate Muslims about Christians.

On this note I want all Muslims of the world to understand that these beliefs are our cardinal Christian beliefs that can never change till eternity. Any Christian who does not hold unto all the articles of faith that I mentioned above is not a genuine Christian.

No matter what you feel or do about it, this is our Christian faith. And no creation can separate Christians from these beliefs or stop them from proclaiming them till the end of the world. For 2000 years now Christians have been hated, abused, bullied, persecuted and even killed because of these beliefs. Here in Nigeria, we are daily being insulted; we are being called barbarians (arna) and infidels (kafurai) because of these beliefs. But no amount of persecution, abuse or hatred can stop us from holding unto these beliefs or proclaiming them, because it is God who reveales them to us in his word as you can see in the verses that I mentioned, which are just few out of so many Bible verses that reveal our Christian faith.

Finally, I am proclaiming to you the good news that Jesus loves you, and he is calling you to come to him in order to receive forgiveness of sins, peace, and eternal life, Matthew 11:28-30; John 6:40.
